World's Smallest Book Store

Hi there! We have big, big plans for the World's Smallest Bookstore, where we plan to feature a selection of books that we don't publish but that, nonetheless, we would recommend to folks who are interested in what we do.  These books include science fiction classics like Voyage to Arcturus by David Lindsay (which is currently out of print), Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein (still in print), and Ubik by Philip Dick, as well as non-fiction books by authors like Chogyam Trungpa, John Lilly and more.

While we have nothing specific posted as yet, we do have a recommendation for happy book hunting online: Powells Bookstore. There you can find over one million new and used books, including those hard-to-find out-of-print titles. And if it's not there this week, it might be there next week. why, here's a link to a list of the dozens of subjects their store encompasses.

Sometimes when a book we list is in print and readily available (like Stranger in a Strange Land), we'll provide a direct link to its web page on the amazon.com online bookstore. Otherwise, unless we have stock on hand (if we do, we'll let you know), we recommend checking your local used bookstores and Powells online.

Keep checking back to this site for book reviews, recommended reading lists and more from the World's Smallest Bookstore! And if you would like to nominate a book to be posted here, drop us a line at gateways@oro.net.

For starters, we have posted below several lists of science fiction books that we have found very helpful in expanding our thinking a bit beyond consensus reality. These books are useful over and above their entertainment value and come highly recommended by Galaxy editor E.J. Gold.
